Newsletter JUNE '25
Starting a newsletter + DET LIKNER EN KROPP + Vårutstillingen '25
Heya! You’ve been added to this newsletter as we might know each other really well, semi-peripherally or friendsome-professionally. Although I will keep these emails to a minimum (you can expect a new email once every 1-3 months, really), if you’re not interested in receiving updates on what I’m up to you can unsubscribe at the bottom of the page.
I’m starting this newsletter inspired by fellow artists in the hopes of being less structured by the current dystopia of algorithmic violence and absurdity of other platforms. I’m still on IG, however, and - oh - Pixelfed! The latter is Mastodon-run and a decent option to Instagram that I recommend trying out. You can find me at @hamidwaheed
As I’m trying the newsletter out in the coming months, this might hopefully turn into a more structured and personable way of approaching you. After all, you’ve been added since I know you to whatever extent. And so, who knows? Maybe I’ll add some recs on what I’m listening to, or share some of what people I know of are making and which you should totally check out!
I hope you’re well, wherever you are. If it’s been a few years and you happen to have forgotten about me, here’s a website:

DET LIKNER EN KROPP - Production announcement
We're moving into production with the new short film DET LIKNER EN KROPP (Resembling a Body) this year!
This fiction short is written and directed by me, Iggy Augunset and Johanna Nyström as producers and Amelie Mattisson Chue as the DOP. More about the cast and crew to be revealed!
The project is funded by the Norwegian Film Institute and Viken Filmsenter. Special thanks to consultant Nina Barbosa for the trust and to all the amazing people who are taking part in the shoot. I can't wait to get it going!
DET LIKNER EN KROPP is produced by Skissefilm, which is a (pretty new) production company that I’m part of, along with the lovely filmmakers Iggy Augunset and Johanna Carin Nyström. More info on this too, soon to come!
I wager the next update will happen as we approach post-production. Until then, you can get a small overview of the project here (in Norwegian):

Vårutstillingen ‘25 - Showing until 22nd of June!
I’ve been so lucky as to jury this year’s Vårutstilling (Spring Exhibition) at Fotogalleriet, organized by Forbundet Frie Fotografer (FFF). It’s been a privilege to dive into the practices of colleagues in the field of lens-based art across Norway. Along with the other jury members Åsne Eldøy (jury leader) and Ingrid Eggen, I think we’ve managed to gather an amazing selection of works that showcases some of the breadth of what’s going on amongst our peers. Our hope is also that the works harmonize in a way that supports a visit, should you make your way to Fotogalleriet!
Selected artists:
Andreas Meinich
Irene Kaltenborn
Hilde H. Honerud
Johan Andrén
Line Bøhmer Løkken
Marianne Bjørnmyr
Mattias Cantzler
Morten Andersen
Sara Larsen Stiansen
This year, Hilde H. Honerud received the Art Photography Prize for her series Regarding the Pain of the Future. The prize is funded by The Relief Fund for Visual Artists (BKH).
Big congratulations to everyone!
